WA Indigenous rangers nominated for prestigious Earthshot Prize

A group of about 70 Indigenous ranger teams from Western Australia has received international recognition. The Indigenous Desert Alliance has been named as the sole Australian nominee for Prince William’s Earthshot Prize, beating out hundreds of other candidates from across the globe.

The nomination highlights the vital work these rangers do in managing and protecting vast stretches of the Australian desert. Being selected from a field of nearly 700 nominations puts a global spotlight on WA’s traditional land management practices and conservation efforts.
